I know that these characters are not British property but I can’t help feeling a sense of pride- and possessiveness- that they are British. And in my childish way I always end up thinking, ‘Well yes, you can like them all you want. But just remember… they were ours first.’. We get a lot of hate on this blog for posts about Harry Potter or Doctor Who because a lot of people like them, but with the utmost respect I must say that we do it because they are kind of British heritage. Written by Brits, about Brits. Plus, I can’t imagine that many non- Brits can say when their parents were kids they used to hide behind the sofa because of the scary black and white daleks.
